All prices on LawyerCostGuide are calculated using a three-step process: (1) National baseline from industry surveys and published cost data; (2) City adjustment using BLS Regional Price Parity indices; (3) Quarterly review and update cycle. We do not accept payments from service providers and never adjust prices based on commercial relationships.
The national baseline 'average' represents the midpoint of a standard-quality project in an average-cost US city (COL index 100). City-specific prices multiply this baseline by the city's COL index divided by 100.
